Disney Case Study Questions on Corporate Strategy
- Why has Disney been successful for so long?
- Discuss the “three dimensions” of corporate strategy and how Disney did with each of them under Eisner.
- Was Eisner worth the $230MM in stock options he received? Why/why not?
- How can you tell if a diversification strategy is working, according to what we’ve read? Now, apply that to Disney.
- As the last line of the case says: “Did Eisner — the man credited with Disney’s rebirth — now need to change his approach to running his entertainment empire?”

- Business style writing. Wrote clearly and effectively.
- Thorough/Detailed/Effort
- Used original thoughts, not just cut-and-paste from the case
- Communicated solid understanding of course concepts
- Showed that you thoroughly read and understood the case facts

- Using information from the exhibits/quant analysis will get you a higher than if you do not.
- Do not use outside sources of any kind and no references to modern day (what really happened or what’s happening today isn’t important. This is an exercise of using information from the case and nothing but the case.)
