Adolescence is a very important time in the sexual life cycle. Physical maturity takes place, increased social interaction occurs, and individuals begin to explore intimacy. Parents are still a major influence in their childrens lives and can have an impact on their childrens emerging sexuality. Therefore, as helping professionals it is important to consider how these influences intersect with childrens and adolescents personal questions and experiences with sexuality throughout their development.
