Assignment
For this essay, you will be applying your knowledge of the concepts we’ve been discussing, particularly pathos, logos, and ethos. Youll be analyzing a text (the essay youve chosen) for its use of these appeals, as well as its other attributes contributing to the effectiveness of the delivery and the power of its message.
As you analyze and evaluate the rhetorical appeals/strategies employed by the author(s) of your chosen text, you need to draw a conclusion about the effectiveness of the text and perhaps, in your final paragraph, provide other ideas for consideration and potential alterations. The object of this assignment is not to engage in the debates or arguments the writer(s) discuss; rather, you should be identifying the rhetorical appeals the writer(s) use and sharing your evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of these.
